Let's Talk About: Games I Want To Play This Summer

So my second year of University will soon be over, and I will have some time to take a well deserved break. Well, my work never ends, but I'll definitely have a bit more extra time than usual. So what's on the agenda? Music and film projects with my friends, tonnes of Alt:Mag articles, catching up with anime and of course, playing video games. Here's a little list I put together of games that I would really like to play this summer. Also here's a jolly chiptune song I recommend listening to as you read to get you in a more 'summer-y' mood:

See? I told you it was jolly! Also, that animation is trippy as hell.

Alundra 2: A New Legend Begins (PlayStation)

I've lost count on how many years it has actually been, but I have been playing Alundra 2 for a very long time now. Ever since I started this absolute gem, it has become a routine to complete the game in short, yearly bursts due to the teeth grinding difficulty of the puzzle solving. These short bursts happen to take place during summer, as that is when I have the most spare time. This summer is different however, as I am nearly at the end of the last dungeon. Will I finally complete it? Maybe. We'll have to see.

Clock Tower 3 (PlayStation 2)

So you may have already read my review of this game here on Alt:Mag, but one thing I fail to mention in the review is that I haven't actually completed it. Well, I basically have beat the game, with the exception of the last boss. Why haven't I beat the last boss? Because he's hard as balls!!! I will look forward to sitting down and finally finishing this underrated survival horror experience. Here's my Underrated Games article on Clock Tower 3.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GameCube)

This is one that has been recommended to me time and time again, some say it is one of the best survival horror games of all time. I really love the idea of the 'sanity meter' and the 'sanity effects'. I don't play my GameCube as much as I should (most of the multi platform games I get for PlayStation 2) and so I think it is about time I got around to showing the ol' cube some love this summer. I'll probably save this for night time though, for added immersion.

Headhunter (Dreamcast)

I picked this up recently after hearing good things about it. Judging by gameplay footage, this looked like a very ambitious game for the Dreamcast, and definitely something I'd enjoy. I'll be sure to write up an article once I've given it a go.

Persona 4 Golden (PS Vita)

Get this: I actually own a console from the current generation! You nearly fainted or choked on whatever food you were eating, right? Anyhow, the PS Vita is a beautiful little piece of hardware, with its only downside being that it doesn't have that many games. However the fact that it has the exclusive Persona 4 Golden, an enhanced remake of the Persona 4 for the PlayStation 2, earns it plenty of brownie points. I have started it, but due to work, I've had to put playing it on hold for a while, but trust me, I can't wait to jump into the game and enjoy yet another incredible Persona adventure. I loved the original version, and I know that I will fall in love with its remake too. Also, if you have a moment, check out my cousin Aaron's Alt:Mag review.

Skies Of Arcadia (Dreamcast)

This game is everything that I like in an RPG. A great storyline, colourful graphics and anime-style characters. I started it last year, but due to being at University, I haven't had a moment to play it. Because it is an RPG, I will have to dedicate a lot of hours to it, but that doesn't bother me to much, because as stated above, it is basically everything that I like in an RPG. Just thinking about it now is getting me excited.
