Punk Songs: It's A Punk Rock Christmas (Part 3)

It is weird to think that this is the third Christmas that Alt:Mag has celebrated! Let's just hope it is as jolly as the last! Anyhow, I am continuing with the tradition of Christmas Punk songs. There are so many it kind of seems like I won't ever run out of songs to put in these articles. Check these out, I've chosen some real crackers!

Relient K - Sleigh Ride

Relient K are just one of those bands that never ever ceases to amaze me. I am starting to think that they can't make a bad song. They covered Justin Bieber's Baby and actually made it sound good!!! Here is a cover they did of Sleigh Ride and damn, did they do it justice.

InMemory - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
I don't know much about this band called InMemory (I think they could be Spanish), but judging by this very energetic cover of the Christmas classic, it seems like I probably need to check them out!

Mercy! Mid-Atlantic - All I Want For Christmas Is You
Here's a band I've never heard of either, but this cover is bloody good. I love the way they incorporated other Christmas classics into the cover as well! Good job lads!

Real Friends - I Had A Heart
Guess what? Fearless Records have released a new Punk Goes... compilation and it doesn't completely suck! Anyway, Real Friends are definitely a band to look out for. They have really applied their distinct style to this one. It is a breath of fresh air to hear a Christmas song that is a little bit more melancholy in comparison to the overly happy hits we hear every year. Love it.

Set It Off - This Christmas (I'll Burn It To The Ground)
Another one from that Punk Goes Christmas compilation, and another band to keep an eye on. I saw this band supporting Tonight Alive this year, and holy crap did they grab my attention. The singer was super charismatic and he really knew how to get the crowd going. I bought their album Cinematics, which is awesome. Anyhow, this is a really great song, despite how much of a misery fest it is!

The Maine - Mr. Winter
Back when The Maine weren't irritatingly arty and super serious, they made a Christmas EP, here's a good'un from that EP!

New Found Glory - Nothing For Christmas
Along with last year's 'Boxing Day' by blink-182, this song is probably one of the best Christmas songs that I have heard in recent years. It is more a less an alternative take on 'All I Want For Christmas Is You', but who cares? I wish I could listen to this all year round without looking like a weirdo.

Anyway, from all the Alt:Mag team, we hope you have an amazing Christmas! We hope you receive lots of awesome presents and watch some super cheerful festive movies like Black Christmas to get yourself into the spirit. Merry Christmas y'all.
