I've got to admit, this is a little bit of a biased choice seeing as Elliott Smith is one the main inspirations for my own music, but I knew I would eventually make one of his songs my song of the week. This song isn't my favourite song of his, but it is still incredibly beautiful and sad, which is a recurring theme through most of his work. Yes, you could dismiss his songs as 'too depressing' but you cannot argue that he is an incredibly talented songwriter and there will be no one else quite like him.
